Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a
highly motivated and qualified individual to take on the dynamic
role of a Secretary Senior, supporting the Tri-Cities Annex,
Tri-Cities Outstations, Kennewick Field Office and Community
Corrections Violator Program. This position is located at the
Tri-Cities Annex, Kennewick, WA.*This recruitment has been reopened

references._DutiesKey responsibilities of a Secretary Senior
include, but are not limited to:Duty:Provides complex
clericical/secretarial support for four Community Corrections
Supervisors at the Tri-Cities Annex, Tri-Cities Outstations,
Kennewick Field Office and Eastern Washington Community Corrections
Violator Program.Tasks include:Preparing agenda for unit staff
meetings and support staff meetings, taking and transcribing
meeting minutes, including distribution and maintaining them
electronically;Project and/or database tracking;Drafting, typing,
and proofing memos and letter responses to general corresponcence
for supervisors and maintaining them electronically;Typing, to
include, confidential reports/spreadsheets;Create and edit
documents and perform complex word processing task using graphics,
spreadsheets and charts through various databases;Monitors and
maintains leave of CCOs on supervisor calendars;Work within the
SharePoint system to include uploading documents, updated
documents, and utilizing owner permissions;Assist supervisors with
interview process to include: preparing candidate files, completing
job reference and background checks, working with HR through
recruitment, greeting candidates etc.;Schedules Polygraphs for
CCO'sRuns monthly unit reports for CCS's to include: DWOP's, VIP's,
Monthly Contacts and Dues/Overdues;Office Supply Ordering and Visa
Card CustodianMake travel arrangements for staff and complete all
steps to process travel with HQ Travel;Oversees and coordinates day
to day operations as needed;Demonstrates skills to write clearly,
factually and concisely;Ability to use computer and keyboard for
extended periods of time;Manage multiple priorities and
deadlines.Duty:Supplies back-up support to Office Supervisor
position #SE30 & OAL position #BC25 when they are on leave.Tasks
include:Building access/key control;Purchasing/ordering office
equipment and CCO equipment;Manages/coordinates building issues;LID
Coordinator functions;Support staff file assignments:
receiving/processing work requests.Duty:Performs other duties as
required.Tasks include:Infrequent tasks not included in other
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of increasingly responsible office experience
requiring keyboarding or typing.
- Valid Driver's license.Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System.
- Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
- Willing and able to report policy violations.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
