active Physical Therapist license and 1 year of Physical Therapy
experience required. Applicants who do not meet these
qualifications will not be considered. This contract position in
Benton City, WA offers a specialized physical therapy role within a
K-12 school setting. The therapist will primarily provide 1:1
direct care, offering both therapy sessions and comprehensive
evaluations to about 24 students across all grade levels.
Collaboration with educational staff is essential, as indirect
responsibilities include writing Individualized Education Programs
(IEPs) and assisting in accommodation programming. Key
responsibilities include: Conducting individualized physical
therapy sessions with students spanning kindergarten through 12th
grade Performing thorough evaluations to develop tailored therapy
plans Completing related documentation such as IEPs and
accommodation plans Participating in Medicaid billing and referrals
as part of service provision Working closely with teachers who
serve as case managers to ensure coordinated support Contributing
to case management efforts in a district that experiences some
student transiency, though it is not predominantly transient
Qualifications sought for this role: Licensed physical therapist
with experience in school-based therapy Proficient in conducting
1:1 therapy and formal evaluations Familiarity with special
education processes, including IEP development and accommodation
plans Experience with Medicaid billing procedures Ability to work
collaboratively within a multidisciplinary educational team This
