Designer II position takes ownership of the design functions used
in the development and implementation of capital projects, as well
as, improvements to increase plant system reliability. Work streams
are accomplished through participation on project teams. This
position is accountable for all designs done in 2D and 3D formats.
Safety and quality are key deliverables in all designs as well as
daily behaviors. Additional duties shall include some oversight of
field design/installation activities, training on typical systems
utilized in our facilities, training peers on standard design
processes, and the opportunity to take on some project engineering
tasks/roles as the candidate progresses. This position is based in
the Kennewick Engineering office.Job Description
-- Accountable for timely, accurate and effective implementation of
design related work, directly or through management of others.
-- Establish and maintain drawing standards and design
-- Leads as a design resource in interfacing with the engineers and
-- Ability to teach others to read and interpret 2D drawings.
-- Assist and support development and implementation of
-- Understand site & building design,
electrical/controls/networking, and process design.
-- Perform site inspections, evaluations, and analysis of processes
and facility systems
-- Assist and support project implementation activities such as
construction safety programs, site logistics, construction and
installation tasks, and commissioning/start-up, and closeout
-- Must be a team player.
-- Capable of managing design projects independently
-- Interpret, issue, and adhere to specifications.
-- This person will have a fundamental understanding of a food
manufacturing environment, a technical knowledge of equipment and
may develop project management skills that can be applied to small
low complexity business initiatives
-- External interaction will include equipment vendors,
construction contractors, engineering services contractors, and
-- Develop and implement problem solving/troubleshooting skills
that efficiently provides feasible solutions.
-- Recognize, document and promote best practices.
-- Ability to facilitate and direct work in group discussions.
- Food process plant and design experience
- PQ/APPT certifications desirable (will train)
- Understanding of LOC (will train)
- Leadership, technical, analytical, and innovative skills
- Must be detail orientated when appropriate
- Proven self-starter and work history profile
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational
- Command of PC skills to include Windows, Excel, Word, Access,
PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Solid Works
- Ability to drive and otherwise travel to various locations to
- Extended travel and time away from home to complete projects at
various project locations are part of the job.
- This position requires the ability to travel both domestically
and internationally, at times up to 50%.\\
