Job Description Summary
The B/R Mechanic operates, installs, repairs and rebuilds boilers,
refrigeration systems, and other related systems. This includes but
is not limited to: engine rooms, freeze tunnels, steam and
condensate systems, boiler treatment systems and water systems.
Start up, operate and shut down of boiler, refrigeration and
Observes operation, reads gages and instruments, adjusts mechanisms
such as valves, controls and pumps to control levels of fluid,
pressure and temperature in systems.
Maintains equipment by tightening fittings, repacking bearings,
replacing packing glands, seals, gaskets, valves, recorders, gages,
and cleaning or replacing other components.
Communicates with supervisors, and is capable of reading and
understanding operating instructions, logs, and technical
Records readings in daily logs and sheets as assigned.
Active member in PSM Team functions including Mechanical Integrity,
Process Hazard Analysis, Management of Change, etc.
Able to maintain a clean work area by complying with the 5S
standards of the company.
Cuts, welds and installs piping and equipment.
Operation of machine tools, grinders, and hand tools.
Complete planned scheduled work through the optimization of the
online work order system.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum 5 year's related experience and/or training
High school diploma or equivalent or 10 year's related
Must be able to communicate effectively
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50
May be required to work any shift, any and all days of the week, or
overtime in accordance with production and maintenance
