Senior HVAC Engineer - Richland, Washington

We are seeking a Senior HVAC Engineer for a long-term project based
in Richland, Washington. This position offers a per diem, paid
mobilization, occasional paid trips home, and the opportunity for
overtime. The successful candidate will engage in significant
engineering activities, primarily focused on the design and
preparation of HLW electrical systems and equipment for procurement
and construction phases.
Responsibilities:
Lead the engineering design efforts using tools such as SETROUTE,
BlockDraw, and ETAP for HLW systems.
Gain a comprehensive understanding of all engineering discipline
drawings and electrical discipline diagrams, including control
logic, system descriptions, calculations, 1-line and 3-line
drawings, schematics, and layout of electrical equipment.
Perform cable sizing calculations and specify equipment needs.
Conduct specialized tasks and engineering studies, including
document checking as needed.
Interpret and apply relevant codes, standards, and design
requirements to ensure alignment with project specifications and
design documents.
Demonstrate initiative and capability for creative design
independently, adhering to proven industry concepts and
procedures.
Utilize an electronic Cable Management System, ensuring accurate
data entry and database corrections.
Exhibit strong communication skills and collaborate effectively
within multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited
institution, accompanied by at least 3 years of related
experience.
Ability to pass pre-employment screenings including a drug test and
a physical (if required at the construction site).
Must be eligible to obtain a Department of Energy access badge.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Additional Qualifications:
Proven experience in Electrical Engineering with involvement in all
design phases: Conceptual, Preliminary, and Final.
FE/EIT Certification, or the ability to obtain it within 12 months
of hire.
Proficient understanding of electrical codes and standards (NFPA,
ANSI/IEEE, etc.).
Practical knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and
equipment layouts.
Experienced in specifying electrical equipment and in the material
requisition process.
Proficiency with electrical design tools such as CAD 2D, ETAP, and
other Cable Management Systems.
Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred, along with
relevant work experience.
Familiarity with standard industry practices regarding facility
construction, start-up, and maintenance.
