Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Perioperative Nursing Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day w/ Call Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum 3 Years License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS (if applicable) Must-Have: Experience in Operating Room Nursing Description: The Registered Nurse specializing in perioperative nursing practice performs nursing activities in the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of the patient's surgical experience. The RN will work to ensure the provision of quality care for surgical patients through the utilization of the nursing process, established standards of care, policies, and procedures. The perioperative nurse acts as the patient advocate and is responsible for the direction and supervision of any personnel assigned to them. The RN reports to the Unit Nurse Manager, House Supervisor, or RN Team Leader. This position includes on-call rotation. Agency nurses may be floated to other departments where they are qualified to perform patient care before core staff is floated. Shift is scheduled Monday through Friday from 06:30 to 17:00. Holiday coverage is required.
