Registered Nurse (RN) | OR Circulate Location: Hermiston, OR Agency: Mindlance Health Pay: $2,506 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Mindlance Health to find a qualified OR Circulate RN in Hermiston, Oregon, 97838! ID: 76082286 Shift: Day Description: Definition of Position: The Registered Nurse specializing in perioperative nursing practice during intraoperative surgical experience. Responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the operating room and other areas of perioperative services for all patient populations. The perioperative nurse acts as the patient advocate and is responsible for the direction and supervision of any personnel assigned to him/her. He/she will be on call for the Surgery Unit on a regular scheduled rotation. Essential Job Functions: Accept responsibility for the direction, control, planning, of an activity Make evaluations and decisions based on measurable or verifiable criteria Work independently Implement the plan of care by: oProtecting the patient from injury caused by extraneous objects and chemical, electrical, laser, mechanical, and thermal sources. oPerforming accounting procedures to protect the patient from unintended retained surgical items. oPerforming interventions necessary to ensure that the patient s procedure is performed on the correct site, side, and level. oManaging the patient s specimens according to organizational policy and procedures. oCommunicating the patient s status to relevant parties throughout the continuum of care. oAdministering medications safely and correctly. oPerforming interventions to maintain the patient s wound and tissue perfusion at or above baseline levels. oPerforming interventions to maintain the status of the patient s genitourinary, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, endocrine, respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological systems and fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base balances at or above baseline levels. oPerforming interventions to protect the patient from surgical site infection. oProtecting the patient s rights, dignity, and privacy. oProviding age-specific, culturally competent, ethical care within legal standards of practice. oProviding consistent and comparable care regardless of the setting. Document nursing care accurately, completely, and legibly. Collaborate effectively with other disciplines as applicable. Use problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with team members. Maintain required competencies. Pursue professional growth and participating in a professional organization. Act as a patient advocate and maintain privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information. The employee supports the hospital mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures. Participates in required education for DNV programs as applicable to position (reference program education curriculum). Agency nurses will be floated to other departments where they are qualified to perform patient care before core staff is floated. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education Required: Associate of Science in Nursing. Preferred: Bachelor s degree in nursing. Licenses/ certifications/ registrations Required: Current RN license in State of Oregon, BLS, ACLS, & PALS Certification, TNCC. Preferred: CNOR, Peri-op 101, CRASE training: If travel assignment extends beyond a 6-month period, CRASE training will be required. Experience Required: None. Preferred: Previous RN circulator experience, Peri-op 101 course, Scrub experience.
