Current state licensure in Radiologic Technology Certifications:
Current certification in Radiologic Technology; current BLS, ACLS
certification (or within six months of hire); certifications
specific to areas of clinical specialty preferred. Must-Have: -
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program -
Demonstrated advanced technical competence in procedural imaging,
radiation safety, and sterile field maintenance - Ability to
provide care for patients’ age-specific, cultural, physical, and
psychosocial wellbeing Description: Radiologic Technologist for the
Urgent Care Department. The Interventional Radiology/Cardiology
Radiologic Technologist supports diagnostic and interventional
procedures through expert operation of fluoroscopic imaging
equipment. This role works collaboratively with physicians, nurses,
and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient, and
high-quality patient care. The technologist demonstrates advanced
technical competence in procedural imaging, radiation safety,
sterile field maintenance, and hemodynamic monitoring while
adhering to departmental protocols and regulatory standards.
Exercises professional judgment in the performance of services and
maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Provides
appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions
essential for successful completion of procedures. Responsibilities
include operating fluoroscopic imaging systems during diagnostic
and interventional procedures. Performs any image post-processing
and ensures images are sent to the PACS system. Ensures optimal
image quality, positioning, and equipment settings based on
procedural needs. Verifies imaging readiness, room setup, and
equipment functionality prior to each case. Maintains strict
adherence to ALARA principles and all radiation safety policies.
Enters charges into the electronic record when necessary. When
assigned, functions as the scrub technologist using sterile
techniques to assist physicians during procedures. Prepares and
organizes sterile instruments, guidewires, catheters, sheaths, and
other materials. Anticipates physician needs and responds quickly
during critical moments. Demonstrates familiarity with vascular
anatomy, device sizing, and procedural flow. Communicates
effectively with the procedural team to ensure accurate
documentation of events and findings. Assists with patient
preparation and positioning and connects monitoring equipment as
needed. In collaboration with nursing staff, verifies allergies,
NPO status, and other relevant clinical factors. Documents all
supplies used, implants, contrast usage, and procedural details
accurately. Monitors patient condition and responds to changes
during procedures as requested. Assists with managing supplies and
tracking inventory. Ensures all equipment is inspected, calibrated,
and functioning properly before use. Reports and documents
malfunctioning equipment and assists with placing service calls
when needed. Works independently, making evaluations and decisions
based on measurable or verifiable criteria. Recognizes the rights,
responsibilities, and confidentiality of all patients, conveying
empathy and effectively communicating with diverse patient
