Job Description
A Le Grande based client is searching for a Certified Registered
Nurse Anesthetist to provide excellent nursing care in a Level IV
trauma center. An ideal candidate is a team player,
detail-oriented, able to see all patient ages, monitor and
intervene on patient safety concerns, and carry out organizational
protocols. There are six providera at the hospital including 1 MDA
and 5 CRNAs. This position will qualify for quality incentives and
a competitive sign on bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor
of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree
- Successful completion of a Certified Registered Nurse
Anesthetist (CRNA) program accredited by the Council on
Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA)
- Current certification as a Certified Registered Nurse
Anesthetist (CRNA) by the National Board of Certification and
Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)
- Valid and unrestricted state licensure as a registered nurse
and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of
Oregon
Preferred Qualifications
Responsibilities
- Administer Anesthesia: Perform pre-anesthetic assessments,
formulate anesthetic plans, and administer various types of
anesthesia, including general, regional, and local anesthesia
techniques, to patients of all ages and medical conditions.
- Patient Evaluation: Conduct thorough patient evaluations,
including reviewing medical histories, performing physical
examinations, and interpreting diagnostic test results, to
determine the appropriate anesthesia plan for each patient.
- Monitoring and Adjusting Anesthesia: Continuously monitor
patients' vital signs, anesthesia depth, fluid balance, and pain
levels throughout surgical procedures. Make necessary adjustments
to anesthesia levels and medications to maintain patient stability
and safety.
- Airway Management: Establish and secure patients' airways,
ensuring proper oxygenation and ventilation during the
administration of anesthesia and throughout the procedure.
- Pain Management: Assess and manage patients' pain levels,
implementing appropriate strategies and medications to alleviate
pain and discomfort during and after surgery.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with the surgical
team, including surgeons, nurses, and technicians, to ensure smooth
and safe patient care. Communicate effectively with patients and
their families, explaining anesthesia procedures, risks, and
post-operative care instructions.
- Emergency Response: Recognize and respond promptly to any
anesthesia-related emergencies, such as allergic reactions, cardiac
events, or complications arising from anesthesia
administration.
- Documentation: Accurately document all aspects of patient care,
including anesthesia plans, medications administered, patient
responses, and any adverse events or complications.
