Qualifications---Bachelor's Degree in Business-related field, or equivalent experience normally gained through on the job experience---Three to five years of purchasing related experience in sourcing, cost reduction, and inventory control---Strong communication and interpersonal skills---Solid demonstrated teamwork skills---Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, database experience---Ability to multitask and adjust priorities---Appropriate PPE required when working on plant floor---Frequent walking, talking, and hearingResponsibilities---The Buyer is responsible for procuring products and services for the organization securing the best overall costs, ensuring quality products are delivered on time and in accordance with specifications and customer requirements and will collaborate closely with the Senior Buyers, Purchasing Manager, Corporate Purchasing Director, and Plant Managers, to ensure procurement strategies are aligned with the Company's overall growth plan---The Buyer will conduct themselves with a high degree of professionalism, ethics, and personal integrity---MRP review and analysis resulting in maintenance of planning parameters, places purchase orders and ensures adequate levels of inventory based on forecast, min/max on customer orders---Ensures the system is set up so ordering is completed off of dashboards and system driven---Places purchase orders for stock and non-stock items, acknowledgement review, and expedite and purchase order follow up---Maintains acknowledged or changed dates in the system---Bidding and negotiating with vendors to ensure cost control---Updating supplier contracts in the system and flagging primary suppliers as appropriate to ensure company is purchasing from the lowest supplier---Assists in new product development efforts to include obtaining quotes, setting up items in the data base in accordance with standardized naming conventions---Follows through with adding costs and supplier contracts and updating planning parameters---Source products, research, develop, audit, review capacity of new suppliers working toward building relationships, and obtain appropriate documentation such as COI-certificates of insurance and indemnification requirements based on supplier risk level---Completes resolution of quality issues through root cause analysis, replacement goods, and credit receipt---Collaborates with management and internal/external customers reviewing customer requirements, planning requirements, scheduling requirements, identifying product codes and appropriate general ledger accounts to utilizeFull descriptionJob title Buyer Reports to Corporate Purchasing Director Job purpose The Buyer is responsible for procuring products and services for the organization securing the best overall costs, ensuring quality products are delivered on time and in accordance with specifications and customer requirements and will collaborate closely with the Senior Buyers, Purchasing Manager, Corporate Purchasing Director, and Plant Managers, to ensure procurement strategies are aligned with the Company's overall growth plan.
