Job DescriptionPosition Summary: The PCBA Buyer / Planner is the primary accountable person for all aspects of printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) planning and supply. This person will be responsible for owning MRP inputs and assisting in building the foundations of purchasing and planning processes as required to drive improved supply of PCBA's. This role will be a key business partner to Sales Operations, Manufacturing, R&D, Finance and Accounting. This position is located at company headquarters in Kennewick, WA. Key Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Maintain vendor and component information in ERP system, including Payment Terms, Standard Cost, Lead Time, and Shipping Time etc.
  • Quote, submit, and manage purchase orders to ensure utmost accuracy of delivery dates and quantities.
  • Responsible for supplier production and delivery schedule.
  • Manage supplier corrective actions and escalation paths in partnership with Operations Engineering, Manufacturing, and R&D.
  • Proactively update Cadwell leadership on all critical supply issues.
  • Analyze procurement data and report on metrics including on-time delivery, PO status, vendor performance etc.
  • Resolve PO discrepancies and invoice issues, and ensure timely PO receipt.
  • Build cross functional teams and champion continuous improvement initiatives for cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Responsible for managing the demand and supply plan for PCBA's.
  • Develop and execute MRP supply and demand plans.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on implementing supply chain strategies.
  • Develop key planning metrics and reports including Safety Stock Analysis, Inventory Health, Order Policies, Fixed Order Lead Time, and Cash Flow.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors and ensure communications are tight with real time updates.
  • Collaborate with R&D for prototype and new product development.
  • Mitigate risks and ensure supply continuity for given scope to meet customer fulfillment needs.
  • Report on customer fulfillment and own clear to build/line of balance style reporting.
  • Proactively manage priority status for Life Cycle Analysis, Sustaining Engineering and Component Engineering.
  • Be the Champion for locating and securing difficult to source items
  • Own the escalation process for difficult to source items when other company resources are required.
  • Publish Monthly, Weekly and maintain linked daily status updates in partnership with Operations AnalystCommunicate expedites when necessary
  • Troubleshoot and resolve ERP System issues as required
  • Attend and participate in production meetings
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assignedEducation / Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Operations, Management, or Business-related field
    • Must have at least five years previous experience in PCBA Buying
    • Experience with ERP systems and demonstrated ability to leverage existing tools
    • Experience with Lean is a plus
    • Possess well-rounded knowledge in supply chain, materials planning
    • A well developed network of Distributors, Brokers and Manufacturers in Electronic Components is a plusJob Knowledge / Requirements:

        • General office positions may require some reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, standing, walking, sitting, hearing, visual acuity, color vision and 2-way written/verbal communication.
