As a Medical Assistant you will work under direct supervision of a healthcare practitioner to use your clinical knowledge and skills to assist in delighting our patients.*What you will do, a day in the life*1. Build something new2. Take care of patients outside the transaction3. Be a part of an exceptional team4. Commit to a differentiated experience for each patient, every time5. Learn, grow and help others to do the same*Specifically, job requirements: *1. Greets patients and prepare them for physical examinations, including obtaining vital signs, weight, height, reviewing medications and medical history, allergies, and performing all ancillary tests required2. Assist physicians during examination and treatment3. Maintains supplies, cleans rooms and equipment, and stocks rooms with required supplies4. Operate and maintain autoclave machine in accordance with policy and procedures that meet all regulatory requirements5. Maintain and operate all clinical equipment including calibration and record keeping in accordance with the current policy and procedure and manufacturers recommendations6. Perform ancillary testing and tasks as ordered by the supervising practitioner7. Assist in surgical tray set up and injury or acute care as directed by the treating physician8. Maintain the lab supplies, equipment, rapid testing and all required record keeping, and quality assurance duties as required by CLIA9. Dispenses medications and appliances, applies bandages, dressings and splints as ordered by the physician10. Assists in maintaining a neat, clean and orderly appearance in the center throughout the day.11. Follows HIPAA guidelines and safety rules as outlined in training12. Attend and participate in team huddles, center staff meetings, ongoing training13. Performs all duties to achieve or exceed established and desired service standards and create a delightful patient experience before, during and after the visit14. Performs other duties as assigned by leadership*Critical to the work - you must have these: *1. H.S. Diploma or GED2. 1-year medical assisting experience in a clinic setting3. Clinical competencies to perform the duties of a Medical Assistant-Certified4. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN).5. Washington State Medical Assistant Certified or Medical Assistant Interim certification, WA State Only.*Nice to bring - you might have these: *1. Excellent phone communication and ability to gather history and current conditions from patients prior to appointments.3. Skill operating computer in a Windows environment utilizing Outlook, Work, and Excel4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills5. Ability to interact effectively with associates and management at all levels6. Independent decision making skills and ability to influence others to resolve issues7. Ability to work as a member of a team or independently without supervision or direction8. Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment to handle sensitive and confidential information in a discrete and professional manner9. Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaning strong attention to detail.*Working Environment*Work is performed within a normal clinical office environment with ambient temperatures.*Physical Requirements*The following have been identified as essential physical requirements of this job and must be performed with or without an accommodation: This is primarily a sedentary role which requires the ability to exert up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
