Job Description:

Superintendents are responsible for day-to-day management of field activities on Envirocon projects. This includes evaluating, hiring, scheduling, and supervising Envirocon craft personnel, as well as selecting and obtaining adequate and appropriate equipment for the job and ensuring that the equipment is maintained in compliance with Envirocon Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). In addition, the Superintendent may be responsible for oversight of lower-tier subcontractors performing work on Envirocon projects. Superintendents are project-based and these positions require the individual to travel to and work at job sites as directed by upper management. The Superintendent works closely with the project management team and reports to the Project Manager. Typically, this is an entry-level management position for Operations. Kennewick, WA but negotiable.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Superintendent:

  • Plans, organizes, and manages field activities for craft and equipment resources
  • Oversees and evaluates work performance and productivity of craft and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project rules, procedures, specifications, and safety requirements
  • Assists with selection and hiring of project craft personnel
  • Ensures craft time cards accurately reflect hours and job tasks worked.
  • Informs project management of changes in scope and site conditions, work interferences, and schedule issues; and assists in resolving such problems as directed.
  • Assists the Project Manager in planning work schedule, determining manpower levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements
  • Is committed to Envirocon's Safety Culture and actively involved in project Health and Safety through support of and cooperation with the Site Health and Safety Officer, including:
  • Enforcement of Health and Safety Program and Plans
  • Participation in Job Hazard Analysis development
  • Pre-task planning
  • Briefing craft prior to initiation of new tasks
  • Participation in incident investigations and reporting
  • Trains and mentors craft personnel
  • Performance of additional assignments as directed by the Project Manager
  • Provide liaison between field engineering and crafts to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Review and interpret project schedules in order to plan and direct field activities
  • Communicate with and lead a team composed of different crafts and subcontractors
  • Recognize potential changes and other project impacts and assist project management with notifications and claims.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the project contract, specifications and drawings
  • Understands the function and intended use of equipment on the project
  • Writing skills necessary to accurately document project activities
  • Effectively communicate with clients and subcontractors
  • Communicate effectively with Envirocon support departments
  • Understands and uses Envirocon's project control systems to improve job performance.
  • Understands and complies with Envirocon's SOPs to increase efficiency and minimize risk
  • Demonstrates persistence and creativity in resolving project issues
  • Possesses integrity and honesty toward the company and our clients
  • Self-motivated and possesses the desire to develop professionally and personally
  • Has the ability to train and mentor craft labor
  • Superintendents must be able to satisfy Envirocon's DMV driving qualification and remain a qualified driver. Required Education and ExperiencePM19
  • Three years' experience supervising work involving radiological contaminated materials. Some positions may contractually require three years radiological experience, five years supervisory experience, and a total of 10 years construction experience. Experience in handling chemical and other hazardous constituents is desirable.
  • Preference is for candidates with radiological experience in both remediation and D&D (demolition)
  • Previous experience on Department of Energy projects which shall include labor management associated with bargaining units.
  • Minimum of a high school education
