Job Description:

Superintendents are responsible for day-to-day management of field activities on Envirocon projects. This includes evaluating, hiring, scheduling, and supervising Envirocon craft personnel, as well as selecting and obtaining adequate and appropriate equipment for the job and ensuring that the equipment is maintained in compliance with Envirocon Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). In addition, the Superintendent may be responsible for oversight of lower-tier subcontractors performing work on Envirocon projects. Superintendents are project-based and these positions require the individual to travel to and work at job sites as directed by upper management. The Superintendent works closely with the project management team and reports to the Project Manager. Typically, this is an entry-level management position for Operations. Kennewick, WA but negotiable.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Superintendent:Plans, organizes, and manages field activities for craft and equipment resourcesOversees and evaluates work performance and productivity of craft and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project rules, procedures, specifications, and safety requirementsAssists with selection and hiring of project craft personnelEnsures craft time cards accurately reflect hours and job tasks worked.Informs project management of changes in scope and site conditions, work interferences, and schedule issues; and assists in resolving such problems as directed.Assists the Project Manager in planning work schedule, determining manpower levels, material quantities, and equipment requirementsIs committed to Envirocon's Safety Culture and actively involved in project Health and Safety through support of and cooperation with the Site Health and Safety Officer, including:Enforcement of Health and Safety Program and PlansParticipation in Job Hazard Analysis developmentPre-task planningBriefing craft prior to initiation of new tasksParticipation in incident investigations and reportingTrains and mentors craft personnelPerformance of additional assignments as directed by the Project ManagerProvide liaison between field engineering and crafts to ensure construction complies with drawings and specificationsRequired Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesReview and interpret project schedules in order to plan and direct field activitiesCommunicate with and lead a team composed of different crafts and subcontractorsRecognize potential changes and other project impacts and assist project management with notifications and claims.Working knowledge and understanding of the project contract, specifications and drawingsUnderstands the function and intended use of equipment on the projectWriting skills necessary to accurately document project activitiesEffectively communicate with clients and subcontractorsCommunicate effectively with Envirocon support departmentsUnderstands and uses Envirocon's project control systems to improve job performance.Understands and complies with Envirocon's SOPs to increase efficiency and minimize riskDemonstrates persistence and creativity in resolving project issuesPossesses integrity and honesty toward the company and our clientsSelf-motivated and possesses the desire to develop professionally and personallyHas the ability to train and mentor craft laborSuperintendents must be able to satisfy Envirocon's DMV driving qualification and remain a qualified driver.Required Education and ExperiencePM19Three years' experience supervising work involving radiological contaminated materials. Some positions may contractually require three years radiological experience, five years supervisory experience, and a total of 10 years construction experience. Experience in handling chemical and other hazardous constituents is desirable.Preference is for candidates with radiological experience in both remediation and D&D (demolition)Previous experience on Department of Energy projects which shall include labor management associated with bargaining units.Minimum of a high school education PI110046790
